AMEDD Silver Star

  • A-K Highlights on this page include SSG Koutrouba who earned the Silver Star an incredible three times. In addition, he also earned two Bronze Stars with "V" device during his tours in Vietnam. Specialist Floyd Book Jr. is a double recipient of the Silver Star. Chief Warrant Officer Robert L. Horst, a medical evacuation pilot, also earned the Distinguished Service Cross in Vietnam. SSG/SFC Allen received four Bronze Stars with "V" device and an ARCOM with "V" device in addition to his Silver Star. Major Kushner, an Ophthalmologist, earned his Silver Star while he was a POW. PFC Dennis Hoff is a double recipient of the Silver Star.

  • L-Z  Of particular note on this page is a Silver Star citation for Specialist Joseph LaPointe Jr who also received the Medal of Honor for actions in Vietnam. Specialist Fourth Class Ernest Echavarria Serrano earned the Silver Star three times during his tour in Vietnam. Warrant Officer Oscar Wynne III earned his Silver Star as a pilot of an Air Ambulance Helicopter during a daring rescue of badly wounded Soldiers. Private Perlmutter also earned the Bronze Star with "V" device and the Soldier's Medal in Vietnam. Captain Ralph also earned the Bronze Star with "V" device while in Vietnam
